This little chunk of dark and driving glitchgroove was successfully extracted from Humanaut’s Out of Order event last April, a showcase for the Bleepsequence netlabel. The label’s founder and Humanaut cohort, Revy, delivered a hypnotic live pa dense with rugged textures, cryptic synth lines, and unique rhythms drifting off into the cosmos.

20 podcasts already? Even though the podcast series has been somewhat unsustainable at times we’re glad to have hit this milestone! And as a result, we’re pleased to give you a very special release.
Our 20th podcast comes from Sutekh. You may remember him from the Humanaut afterhours party at the VIA festival last month. He’s the guy who bashed your head in with a speaker……good, we knew you wouldn’t forget. This mix tape was recorded in 1997 at the Vulcan Foundry Studios in Oakland, CA. It was the first mix ever released under the Sutekh name.
A tracklisting is not available. If you’re able to accurately provide the tracklisting for this mix you will get a free entry into a Humanaut event of your choice.

Humanaut turns 6 years old. How will we celebrate? We’ll do it by throwing our biggest party in history in conjunction with the 2011 VIA Music & New Media Festival. All headliners, all night, raw space. We’ll kick it off after Underground Resistance closes down the main stage and go until Sunday morning with the biggest sound system we’ve ever hauled in plus visual projections and LED wall installs.
Oh yeah, and then there’s the lineup:
Donato Dozzy (Aquaplano, Prologue, Rome)
Nuel (Aquaplano, Rome)
Sutekh (Context, Washington DC)
live visuals by Matt Sterling, LED installation by Komputer Kontrolled
$15 @ Door or presale (from the Humanaut street team) if attending only this show. Admission to this party is already included in VIA All-Access, Weekend Plus, and Weekend passes. If you’ve purchased one of these, then you’ve already got your ticket to this.

DVS1 Klockworks/Transmat
DVS1 (Zak Khutoretsky) has been producing some of the most respected techno in the world lately. Enough said. He also enjoys reading poetry and drawing black and white comics strips, though we don’t think they’re all that funny.

“There are a number of Italian electronic music producers that made the jump to international stardom. Luca Bacchetti, Davide Squillace, Marco Carola. But none has come with as defined—or, more accurately, refined—aesthetic as Donato Dozzy. Equal parts trance and techno, his sound is unmistakably his own, one honed over the course of years of DJing and production. In his wake, there have been a number of followers, producers putting their own spin on the dark and liquid techno that Dozzy has come to be associated with.”
- Todd Burns, “Italians Do It Darker”, Resident Advisor: http://www.residentadvisor.net/feature.aspx?1202 (A MUST READ!)
Please join us as we welcome one of the most distinctive techno DJs and producers in the world to Pittsburgh for a very rare stateside appearance.
Opening set by
Caley Martin is a gentleman jack of all nothings. He doesn’t come from a long line of mixologists, however he has laid it down and taken it to town with the Humanaut boys in Pittsburgh more than once, provided countless hours of quality online radio via his show, “Sonic Torsion” on MCast (http://www.mcast.mercuryserver.com/?page_id=7), and been a wiley, goofy son of a gun in the process.
Martin’s influences are varied and tasteful, as you will soon notice during this two hour encroachment into your mind! Hour 1 features choice downtempo selections, while hour 2 ramps up into something more pulsating. Neither hour is beyond Caley’s domain, and soon neither will you! Enjoy!
