Thumptek Live PA
Inspired by the energy of Pittsburgh’s late 90’s underground dance scene (House of Styles, 5 Star, Downlow events), Jason Evanko has built his style and studio to produce not only individual tracks, but continuous dance floor pounding 100% live techno performances under the name Thumptek. These mostly improvised hardware live sets are best described as a raw blend of jackin’ minimal techno, and gritty acidhouse. Throughout the millennium, Jason has been a key player of Pittsburgh’s Electronic Dance Music scene, not only as a live techno performer/producer, but also as a promoter.

Three. You may remember him from the legendary Memorial Day Sunday party in 2005 at Pittsburgh’s Sanctuary club (rip). After years of having a house and techno void in the Steel City, cutting-edge dance music exploded back into the main room of the best club in the city as Three laid waste to hundreds of eager clubbers. Since that event, it has been a non-stop musical ride all the way up to now, 2007, when we see Three return to devastate a Pittsburgh dancefloor once again.

Armed with a sound that borrows equally from vintage acid-house, soulful techno and modern dub, Three’s taken it one step further year after year, from San Francisco’s legendary Wicked Crew party, to NYC’s Twilo, to London’s Fabric and back again. Echoing his wide tastes as a DJ, his modest production output (Second-Hand Satellites, Three A.M., Montage Men) has captured a not-so-common cross section of dance floors from house to techno and all points in between.
