It’s been a long time coming! We are very pleased to welcome a few of the Beretta boys out celebrating the Detroit record label’s 10-Year Anniversary.

Since first meeting them through an official Movement festival afterparty collaboration in 2010, Humanaut has come to know and respect the Beretta outfit for their authenticity, dedication to their work, and loyalty to their city. It is little surprise that their taste is spot on… and that we get along so well!

Beretta co-founder Brian Kage and colleague Luke Hess form the techno duo Reference. Seth Yender, in anticipation for a new release on the Deeplabs imprint, will be performing a live set. Charley Ten will also be arriving to complete the tri-force as the visual element of the night.

Soul over hype. May the zone be with you.

Established in 2002, Beretta Music is a collective from Detroit focused on the future sound of techno music. Beretta has become one of the best musical outlets for new artists to expose their music to the world. Beretta releases have been charted and played by some of the most respected names in dance music today. We strongly believe in quality over quantity and our motto is: “Soul over Hype”.

Our labels include Beretta Music for classic Beretta releases, compilations, & special projects, Beretta Grey for late-night deep techno releases, and Beretta Red for bigger dance floor style techno/house releases. We also continue to release our music on vinyl (cut at the world-famous Archer pressing plant in Detroit.)

This little chunk of dark and driving glitchgroove was successfully extracted from Humanaut’s Out of Order event last April, a showcase for the Bleepsequence netlabel.  The label’s founder and Humanaut cohort, Revy, delivered a hypnotic live pa dense with rugged textures, cryptic synth lines, and unique rhythms drifting off into the cosmos.

:::::::::::::: DJ SET / DEXTER (NL) :
Electro | Bass | Techno | Disco
[Clone / Rush Hour / Klakson]

Dexter came at the dance music world from the same side as you and me: the dancefloor. He’s made everything from driving trance to quirky rock. Looking back to his releases it’s easy to hear why contemporary bass music figures like Boddika and Bok Bok are playing his music.

There’s something about Dexter’s elastic basslines and sense of funk that dovetails with the timeless nature of electro itself. Plenty of UK names make it on to his mixes, along with fellow electro adopters from his homeland and original innovators from Detroit.

:::::::::::::: VJ SET / ROSA MENKMAN (NL) :
Live Video | New Media | Glitch

Rosa Menkman’s videos and live performances are created by accidents in digital media. Her work emphasizes the positive consequences of glitches, compressions, and feedback. She has performed and lectured internationally in festivals concerning the role of digital technologies in contemporary society.

:::::::::::::: DJ SET / TOM COX (PA) :
House | Techno | Disco
[InfiniteStateMachine / Pittsburgh Track Authority / Altered States]

1/3rd of band / production group Pittsburgh Track Authority. Also chief editor of all that real shit for those who know.

:::::::::::::: DJ SET / PAUL FLEETWOOD (PA) :
Techno | Other Things
[VIA / Humanaut]

Contemporary techno and other things DJ from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Co-founder of Humanaut and core production assistant to VIA.

Humanaut’s ‘Out of Order’ event series reaches six months on May 12th, where we introduce to you a Detroit staple – just in time to toughen you up for this year’s Movement Festival.
BMG (Ectomorph, IT)
ERIKA (Ectomorph, IT,
Launched in Detroit in 1995 by BMG and Erika, the IT team has become known for their signature label that pushes brain-twisting techno, classic electro and experimental music across time and space by way of the Motor City. In recent years, they’ve also developed a following of diehards for their ‘No Way Back’ parties. These intimate, audio/visual assaults on the senses have become one of the annual must-attend afterparties of Detroit’s Movement Festival.

Join us at Out of Order as they bring their sound to Pittsburgh for the first time.

The fifth installment of your monthly disorderly throwdown is a focus on the otherworldly sounds of Bleepsequence. Founded and managed by Humanaut’s own Revy, the netlabel serves as an oasis in the abyss of digital debris, providing its listeners with unique open minded techno and experimental media at no cost. To celebrate two years and twenty releases of bleepy brain bending fun, we’ve lined up a set from recent blpsq inductee and all around ultrawizard Relative Q, an elusive live pa from Revy himself, and the mind warping beats of Alex Falk.

[Proper Trax, Bleepsequence, Woods N Bass]

Alex’s DJ selections and original productions are as inspired by stark, warehouse oriented techno and industrial music as they are influenced by the psychedelic sounds of full moon gatherings and outdoor festivals. An electronic music adherent and experimenter since childhood, Falk has applied his outer space aesthetic to a variety of projects, organizing regional events and travelling across North America to DJ and perform live. Now collaborating with longtime friend Joel Cox as ‘Piltdown Sound’, their recent crop of hypnotic & loop-driven techno productions have already recieved support from a variety of well known DJ/producers including Norman Nodge, Adam Jay, Seph, Mekas, Deepchild, Truncate, Samuli Kemppi, Dubfire, Pig & Dan, DJ Psycho, Anderson Noise, and Paco Osuna. 2011′s busy release schedule featured digital and 12″ releases on Proper Trax, Landed Productions, Release Musiq, and SubSensory Recordings which precede projects slated for 2012 release on Bleepsequence, Woods N Bass, Herbst Und Musik and Nude Photo Music.
